Lighthouse 4 Lempira is our child sponsorship program through our partnership with the Sowers4Pastors missionary ministry in Lempira, Honduras. Through this program, we can provide food, school supplies, Bible lessons, and more to over 1000 children in Honduras.

Every summer, LH sends out a missions team to share the gospel of Jesus with our sponsored children and local children in the neighborhood. Through this trip, the team presents Vacation Bible School at the ten schools in the mountains of Lempira, where we sponsor children so the community gets to experience the joy of Jesus!

WHERE CAN I FIND MORE INFORMATION ABOUT MY CHILD AND LH4L?

Profiles will be sent out via mail once a year, and digital copies will be posted on the LH 4 Lempira Facebook Page. You can also find out more information by logging in to your Sowers4Pastors Online Account or emailing lh4l@lighthouse.church.

HOW DO I ACCESS MY ACCOUNT?

To access your account, visit the Sowers4Pastors website. Click Login to manage your account. If this is your first time, click the Reset Password button and follow the prompts to continue.

HOW DO I MANAGE MY ACCOUNT?

Each sponsor will have an account on the Sowers4Pastors website. You can update your payment information and modify your profile there. You may also email trish@sowers4pastors.com, and she will handle your request personally.

WHEN DOES MY SPONSORSHIP END?

Sponsorships can be canceled at any time for any reason. You are also welcome to continue your sponsor relationship with the child until they finish school.

WHAT DOES MY $20 A MONTH GO TOWARD?

Your $20 a month goes toward two nutritious meals per week, weekly Bible lessons, school shoes, and 2 to 3 opportunities to exchange letters with your child per year.

WHY DO WE PROVIDE BACKPACKS AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR THE CHILDREN?

Enrollment in public school is free in Honduras, however, the steep cost of school supplies can be a great financial burden for many families, who typically make only $1,000 per year. Providing a backpack filled with school supplies, takes away the greatest financial burden of education.

IF I SPONSOR A CHILD, AM I REQUIRED TO FILL A BACKPACK?

No, sending a backpack to your child is completely optional. Many sponsors enjoy the feeling of hand-picking their child’s school supplies and then seeing pictures of their child with those items when they receive them!

WHAT IS THE TIMELINE FOR RECEIVING AND WRITING LETTERS?

Generally, sponsors will receive and write letters in February, June, & October. This timeline is subject to change based on a number of factors, but sponsors will always receive email notification at least 2 weeks in advance of when letters will be collected.

CAN I VISIT MY SPONSORED CHILD?

Currently, we do not have a visitation aspect of our sponsorship program, however, LH sends a mission team at least once per year to perform a VBS curriculum for our sponsorship program. This would be a great opportunity to get involved and meet your sponsored child!
