More is Killing Us

Death by a thousand mores.

Sermon Series and Devotional by Pastor Sammy Foster

November 2026 · Sundays at 8 AM, 10 AM, & 12 PM

We live in a world that constantly tells us we need more: More success. More comfort. More information. More control. And yet, many of us feel tired, distracted, and quietly dissatisfied. The problem is that, in a culture of endless more, we’ve forgotten how to live with enough.

Through More is Killing Us, we have an invitation to acknowledge that more isn’t saving us; it’s wearing us down. We will look honestly at the cost of discontentment and rediscover the powerful, Biblical practice of gratitude.

More is Killing Us · Devotional by Pastor Sammy Foster

More isn't saving us.

There is a story you have been told every single day of your life. A story that’s been told to you by your television, your smartphone, your neighbors, your workplace, your social media feed, and, if you are honest, by the quiet, restless voice inside your head that never quite shuts up.

We live in a world that constantly tells us we need more: More success. More comfort. More information. More control.

In reality, the truth about our culture is that discontent has become normal. Gratitude has become optional. We move quickly past blessings, compare our lives to others, and carry the feeling that something is missing, even when God has already provided so much.

At the center of this is a subtle shift: life slowly becomes about me, my needs, my schedule, my fulfillment, my future. What is the true cost of this shift?

This 30-day devotional is an invitation of self-examination, and an opportunity to re-center our lives on God's presence. The prayer is simple: that God would quiet our restless hearts, re-center our lives, and teach us again what it means to live with enough.

Not because we have less, but because Jesus is sufficient!

The Gratitude Wall

Interactive Message Board Through this devotional and sermon series, we are rediscovering the powerful, Biblical practice of gratitude. Gratitude is not pretending life is perfect. It is choosing to recognize God's presence and provision right where we are. In a culture of endless more, gratitude is how we tell the truth. This Gratitude Wall is a place to pause, look around, and name what God has already provided.

What are you grateful for?
