Here at Lighthouse Church, our reason for existence, our purpose, the fuel that keeps us going, the #1 thing we desire to share is Jesus. We believe Him to be the Creator and Source of joy, peace, love, wisdom, and power of which we desire to share and exhort as much as we can. There are hundreds of testimonies of lives transformed through Jesus in the Lighthouse, and we desire to encounter and be a part of many more.

Sin Destroys

Everything wrong with the world can be summed up in one word, sin. Sin is the cause of all of our suffering. It brings sadness, anger, depression, and decay. Apart from Jesus, we are bound to this destructive force. We are enslaved to the very thing that destroys us. We embrace it as it kills us and those around us. Without Jesus, there is no hope. We are doomed to living joyless lives leading to eternal suffering. Sin is the cause of everything we hate, and alone, we can do nothing about it.

Jesus Rescues

However, we do have hope. Jesus died the death we should of died to give us hope and new life which we do not deserve. Jesus’ death on the cross once and for all freed us from our sin and gave us hope in having a new life. The cost for Him was heavy, but the gift He gives us is free. Jesus is our hope. Jesus gives us life. Jesus brings peace. Sin has been conquered, and all we have to do is acknowledge His sacrifice, ask for His salvation, and repent of our sin to obtain this life that He offers.

Jesus Offers a Relationship

Jesus has already saved us from our sin by His death on the cross, but the story doesn’t end there. He rose from death and is seated on a throne in Heaven. He exists, and He desires to have a relationship with us. He wants us to get to know Him better. He speaks to us through His Word, the Bible and listens to us when we come to Him in prayer. He understands us better than anyone else and can relate to us despite being set apart from us. He became human and lived as we live. He understands our pain, suffering, loneliness, and loss. He experienced it, and His heart breaks when we suffer through it. We can come to Him with our problems and desires, and He will listen to us.

This is why Lighthouse Church focuses on Jesus. He genuinely changes lives, and He is worthy of our worship. However, Sunday mornings and weekday small groups are not enough to  get to know Him. His Word is a great resource to get to know Him better. We encourage you to read the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, to understand Him better and to see what He has accomplished. If you don’t own a Bible, we’d be happy to give you one on a Sunday. In the meantime, you can read the Bible online here:
